2019 Light of Garden at Prince Kung’s Mansion, Beijing
On Feb. 18th, Prince Kung’s Mansion witnessed remarkable lights, stunning lanterns and happy viewers, because “Light of Garden”, an event joint held by Culture and Tourism Ministry, Prince Kung’s Mansion Museum and West-city District government, was opened to the public.
“Light of Garden” is a cultural event joint held by Prince Kung’s Mansion Museum and six other foreign museums in Poland, Russia and France. This year marks the sixth annual event, during which the seven museums pass on time-honored traditions such as lighting up traditional lanterns to wish for a better, happier and healthier new year. The seven museums also collaborate and exchange on artistic garden landscape designing to broaden cultural exchange channels.
With the sunset, lanterns were illuminated and the curator of Prince Kung’s Mansion Museum, Sun Xu announced the opening of “2019 Light of Garden”. This event was held during the Chinese Spring Festival, and has fully demonstrated the essences of traditional Chinese Lantern Festival with five major activities for visitors to experience such as traditional customs, lanterns, lantern riddles and shows.
